Reflex is protecting staff and customers with wide-ranging training and new procedures in response to the Coronavirus pandemic


Reflex Vehicle Hire’s award-winning commitment to risk management has expanded in response to the Coronavirus crisis with a new ‘Covid Care’ programme that protects our employees, customers, and the NHS.

Our ground-breaking investment in technology already keeps fleets safe on the road and now customers can rely on our team to provide the safest environment for Reflex vehicle deliveries, collections, and maintenance.

Firstly, we have adapted our business processes to support working from home for most office-based employees, without any impact on customer service levels; those returning to the office will use desks fitted with plastic separating screens.

For team members who work directly with vehicles, our ‘clean team, clean machines’ approach begins with ensuring every staff member is fully hygiene trained, with hand sanitiser provided throughout our business, backed by strict social distancing measures.

A ‘track and trace’ system has also been introduced in case of any employees becoming ill, so all staff who have been in contact with the affected employee can self-quarantine.

We have maintained our delivery and collection programme in recognition of our role as an essential service provider to the UK’s major fleet operators.

Customers benefit from a contactless delivery service, where the vehicle is fully sanitised before the keys are left in a safe place for customers to collect.

During vehicle collections, we follow a similar process, with vehicles left to stand for several days before pick-up; we then carry out a full cleaning programme before the vehicle is moved.

Our mobile vehicle maintenance teams have provided an essential service during the crisis, carrying out in-field servicing, backed by a full sterilisation procedure, to support fleet operators that need to keep on the road, such as utilities.

In addition to social distancing measures, delivery, collection, and maintenance teams are split into independent groups to minimise the number of employees they come into contact with.

As part of our commitment to halting the spread of the virus, we have introduced upgraded long-lasting cleaning sprays, which continue to protect surfaces and skin for several days after application.
